Performing as a caring clown, Kathy Shook's character, "Marmalade", brings unconditional love and gentle humor to those she serves.

She started the Volunteer Caring Clown program at Longmont United Hospital in 2000 when she taught the first class of students wanting to learn this unique and specialized art of clowning.

"Marmalade" and fellow volunteer clowns make regular visits to entertain patients, their families and the staff at LUH. "Marmalade" also makes regular visits to the residents of The Peaks Care Center nursing home.

Kathy has presented Caring Clowning at three Planetree national conferences and has made numerous presentations at local and state events and conferences.

Kathy serves on the World Clown Association Caring Clown Advisory Board.
